Compared with traditional open type batteries, valve regulated sealed lead-acid batteries have the following characteristics:
(1) The sealing degree is high, and the electrolyte is absorbed in the isolation plate with high porosity like gel, which will not flow easily, so the battery can be placed horizontally.
(2) The grid of valve regulated sealed lead-acid battery adopts antimony free lead alloy, and the self discharge coefficient of the battery is very small.
(3) The positive and negative plates of the battery are completely surrounded by the isolation plate, so the effective material is not easy to fall off, and the service life is long.
(4) The volume of valve regulated sealed lead-acid battery is smaller than that of old-fashioned battery, but the capacity is higher than that of old-fashioned open battery.
(5) The battery does not need to be supplemented with any liquid during long-term operation, and will not produce acid mist and gas during use, with minimal maintenance workload.
(6) The internal resistance of the battery is small, and the characteristics of high current discharge are good.
Because of the above advantages, valve regulated sealed lead-acid battery is called maintenance free battery. In recent years, it has been widely used in various professional departments of power system.
