Solar cell is a kind of photoelectric semiconductor chip that uses sunlight to directly generate electricity, also known as "solar chip" or "photocell". As long as it is illuminated by light that meets certain illumination conditions, it can output voltage instantly and generate current when there is a circuit. In physics, it is called photophotovoltaic (PV) for short.
Solar cells are devices that directly convert light energy into electrical energy through photoelectric effect or photochemical effect. Crystalline silicon solar cells working with photovoltaic effect are the mainstream, while thin-film cells working with photochemical effect are still in the embryonic stage.
