Constant Current Charging Method

During the charging process, the charging current remains constant, which is called constant current charging method, or constant current charging method for short. During the charging process, due to the gradual increase of battery voltage and the gradual decrease of charging current, in order to keep the charging current from decreasing due to the increase of battery terminal voltage, the power supply voltage must be gradually increased during the charging process to maintain the charging current unchanged. This requires a high degree of automation of charging equipment, and generally simple charging equipment cannot meet the requirements of constant current charging. Constant current charging method, under the maximum allowable charging current of the battery, the larger the charging current, the shorter the charging time. Considering the time, it is advantageous to adopt this method. However, in the later stage of charging, if the charging current remains unchanged, at this time, because most of the current is used for electrolytic water, the electrolyte bubbles too much and appears boiling, which not only consumes electric energy, but also easily causes a large number of active substances on the electrode plate to fall off, and the temperature rise is too high, resulting in the bending of the electrode plate, the rapid decline of capacity and early scrapping. Therefore, this charging method is rarely used.
